2003: (Odd year- not really critically acclaimed kind of stuff, but either light-hearted or really, really dark)
Best Picture Oscar: “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, my #8
1. Finding Nemo (One of Pixar’s best)
2. Dogville (Unlike any other film I’ve seen. So hard to watch)
3. Big Fish (Crazy fun)
4. Cold Mountain (I wanted it to be a bit better, but Jude Law really came thru and carried it for me. And I love the Civil War)
5. Brother Bear (It’s Disney)
6. Kill Bill Vol. 1 (They got me)
7. A Mighty Wind (Not as good as “Best in Show” or “Waiting for Guffman”, but good still in it’s own folky way)
8. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (I really liked them at the time)
9. My Life Without Me (Sarah Polley is one of my favorites)
10. Love Actually (It’s ok)
(Several more good flicks worth mentioning: The Dreamers; Peter Pan; Lost in Translation; and Mystic River)
