Best Picture Oscar: “The Departed”, my #5

1. The Queen  (I didn’t realize this was my #1. Guess it wasn’t a strong year, but it was a good flick)

2. Little Miss. Sunshine (quirky and fun)

3. Pan’s Labyrinth (it’s all about the crazy fanciful dream sequences)

4. The Fall (Lee Pace- I miss you! Bring back “Pushing Daisies”. And Catinca Untaru was one of the best children’s performances I’ve ever seen on film)

5. The Departed (I didn’t like it nearly as much as everyone else seemed too, but worth watching once)

6. Children of Men (Dark, dark, dark. And out there. Not sure I quiet got everything it was trying to say, but it got its point across)

7. The Devil Wears Prada (Meryl Streep! drink)

8. Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson, I love you and have for awhile. I liked the film a lot. But why do you have to deny it’s not a “Mary Poppins” rip-off? Come on- just between us 🙂 )

9. Dreamgirls (I love me some musical theater, but the movies annoy me more often than not. This one is close to borderline, but ok)

10. Marie Antoinette (It’s just about the costumes and landscapes)

(Unfortunately Beerfest, Snakes on a Plane, Clercks II, Saw III, Scary Movie IV, or Borat Did Not Make the List)

-I’d also like to make note, while many Disney/Pixar usually rank very high in my book, Cars did not make the cut this year.
